It seemed like Germany's Finest was destined for greatness ... right from the beginning. German Graham, Paul Gudde and Simon Zeitz - the original three members of Germany's Finest - first met in 1999. German and Paul were featured in a television broadcast which aired home-made footage of ballers who had the balls to show their skills nationwide. "Game recognized game" and soon both teamed up for various streetball tournaments, where they met Simon Zeitz but soon lost contact.
Simon himself always showed "love for the game", updating the streetball news section at www.crossover-online.de for years. In 2002 he flew to London all by himself to catch www.streetball.co.uk's first ever Street All-Star Game, where he again met Paul who was participating in the game. With Paul's unique way to handle the ball and his extraordinary passing skills in front of a rowdy London crowd, he quickly made himself a name on the European streetball scene.
The following year Paul and Simon, who teamed up after Paul's stunning performance the year before, brought along German Graham to the Street All-Star Game II which the dude straight up killed. Both Paul and German played in the SAS III, but only Paul came back to London in 2005 to represent Germany's Finest since German was breakin' D2 ankles at NYIT in Westchester, NY.
Having assembled footage of more than four summers spent together wrecking courts anywhere, Germany's Finest were about to release their own DVD in 2005. Various trailers created a buzz online, but soon Paul, German and Simon realized that "business is a motherfucker". Dreams of "Putting Germany on the Map" were shattered by dealing with the "wrong people" and using the "wrong music" - copyright issues were never solved.
But Germany's Finest will be back regardless - and better than ever. "It's gon' take some time cause we don't want to bother you with some old-ass footage, but believe me it's worth waiting... ", says Paul, addressing the issues that came up with the DVD. To which heights streetball will take them, only time will tell... Sky's the limit.

The name was born out of confidence and the realization that we are some of the very few people who play real basketball - streetball that is. We know we are able get the job done, but there's so much more to it. The game we love is not just a regular ballgame to us - it's a lifestyle and a way to express ourselves. Whether it be takin' two hundred shots a day, making a new move perfect or hangin' out on the court all day, we represent streetball.
But Germany's Finest is bigger than that. It's a place for everybody who's coming up with sumthin' creative - whether it be dancing, singing, rappin' or whatever. It's excellence in production - history in the making...
